Le Puy en Velay

It is possible to tour on virtually any bike, but we recommend a minimum standard for touring with us. We ask that your motorcycle is well maintained. Start your journey with sufficient life in your brakes, tyres and drive belt or chain to see you through to the end of the tour. Both you and your fully loaded bike should be able to ride at the prevailing speed limits, up to 130kph (80mph).

If you have doubts about your bike or would like to try out another bike for your tour, there are several motorcycle rental companies listed on our Useful Web Links page.

Our recommended ferry crossings are based on best value. It is possible to make small further savings at the time you book your ferry crossings for our tours, by entering discount codes onto the ferry reservations links on our Useful Web Links page. These discount codes are often published in motorcycling publications such as Motorcycle News. For tours departing from Dover, it is possible for those who don't travel well on sea crossings, to pay more for a Channel Tunnel crossing and join the tour in France.

Individuals and groups planning their own tours are welcome to use the Useful Web Links to buy ferry, hotel and bike rental services without obligation to buy from us. We also have a direct link to TomTom where you can buy the Rider Europe (2nd edition) SatNav.
