We have been frequent travelling motorcycle tour enthusiasts for more than 30 years. Our first European tour was in 1981 when France was growing a better motorway network and their government agency, Bison Futé (Wily Bison) were producing tourist maps to entice tourist traffic away from the congested primary routes. These tourist routes known as the Bis Itinerary were fantastic to ride and with lots of interesting tourism features to stop at along the way.

Expansion of the road network has seen tourist traffic return to the primary routes and motorways. The Bison Futé maps are no longer available and tourists are no longer encouraged to use the Bis Itinerary roads which now serve as contingency diversion roads for use when the primary roads or motorways are blocked. The Bis Itinerary roads and similar across Europe still figure prominently in our tour planning.

In the early days we camped in our own small tent. Over time we progressed to camping in big well appointed tents or chalets which were operated by companies such as Eurocamp and Keycamp. Our extensive knowledge of interesting things to see and do on our tour itineraries is in part thanks to what we learned from the site reps and regional information booklets produced by these companies. We have added to this by collecting information from tourist information offices and documenting our own experiences.

Increasingly expensive camping gradually gave way to short stays at budget hotels. We believe hotel use is more advantageous for the touring motorcyclist who has only a week or two of holiday time to spare.

In earlier life I have been a registered nurse, soldier and police officer. As your tour guide I am the person who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. A travel companion, who from experience knows the risks involved and how to manage them. A by nature cheerful and helpful person who is accustomed to dealing with emergency situations. Both adept and equipped for carrying out repairs in the field.

As an ethical company, we are compliant with and often exceed the standards required of our business model by consumer protection laws. The motorcycle clothing we sell is to the standard as would be required of an employer under the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulations and the motorcycle helmets we sell exceed the safety standard required by European Law.
